Welcome to autos.is. These terms govern your use of autos.is, an online marketplace where private sellers and dealers advertise vehicles for sale and for rent in Iceland. By creating an account, publishing a listing or using the site in any way, you agree to these terms.

autos.is is a marketplace and advertising platform. We are not a party to any sale, purchase or rental agreement made between a buyer and a seller. The contract for any vehicle is strictly between the buyer and the seller.

To publish a listing or manage payments you need an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your sign-in details secure, and for all activity that happens through your account.

You must provide accurate contact information so buyers can reach you. Accounts used for fraud, spam, scraping, harassment or the sale of stolen or misrepresented vehicles may be suspended or removed without notice.

You may only publish listings for vehicles that you have the right to sell or rent. All listing information — price, year, mileage, condition, registration and inspection status — must be accurate and up to date. Misleading listings will be removed.

You retain ownership of the photos and text you upload, but you grant autos.is a licence to display them on the site, in search results and in related promotional material for as long as the listing is published.

autos.is may edit titles for readability, remove listings that violate these terms, and refuse any listing at its own discretion.

Publishing a listing may require a listing fee. Optional upgrades, such as featuring a listing or marking it as urgent, are charged separately. Dealers may subscribe to a dealer plan that includes a number of active listings and other benefits.

All prices are shown and charged in Icelandic krónur (ISK) and are inclusive of taxes. Payments are processed by our payment provider; autos.is does not store your card details.

Fees for listings and upgrades are non-refundable once the listing or upgrade is published, unless we are at fault or Icelandic consumer law requires otherwise. A valid invoice is issued for every payment and is available in your account.

Dealer plan fees renew according to the plan duration you purchased. If a dealer plan expires, listings that exceed the plan's active-listing limit may be unpublished until the plan is renewed or the excess listings are removed.

Buyers should always inspect a vehicle, review its registration and inspection history, and confirm the seller's identity before paying anything. autos.is does not verify vehicles or mediate transactions and cannot guarantee the accuracy of any listing.

Never send money in advance to a stranger without proper safeguards, and be wary of deals that look too good to be true. Report suspicious listings to us immediately.

You may not use autos.is to sell stolen vehicles, vehicles with tampered odometers, or anything other than vehicles and related services; to impersonate others; to scrape or reuse content in bulk; to circumvent fees by moving transactions off-site after initial contact; or to break any applicable Icelandic or EEA law.

autos.is provides the site on an "as is" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the content of listings, the condition of any vehicle, or any loss arising from a transaction between buyers and sellers.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Icelandic law, including liability towards consumers under the Icelandic Consumer Sales Act and related legislation.

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be announced on the site. Continued use of autos.is after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by Icelandic law, and disputes will be resolved by the courts of Iceland unless mandatory consumer protection rules give you access to another forum.
